What is a lactose intolerance?
Lactose intolerance is a reaction after eating or drinking foods that contain lactose. Symptoms involve the gut and can include diarrhoea nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain and/or bloating. These usually occur 30 to 120 minutes after lactose ingestion.

How is lactose intolerance
diagnosed?
To diagnose lactose intolerance, the most common methods used include: ​​Hydrogen Breath Test (drinking oral lactose dose of 25-50 grams fasted) or ​Trial of Lactose-free Diet ( two-week period)

You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for your dietary consultation. In order to receive a Medicare rebate, you must obtain a care plan from your GP. Medicare rebates can be processed in our office at the time of your consultation. Out of pocket expenses apply for dietitian consultations.
